Long ago Canada was a raw nation known only to Native Peoples. When the French discovered her wealth in fur pelts a whole new Nation was in the process of being born. The brave men and women who journeyed here suffered from lack of food, shelter and protection from Indian attacks. They managed to stay, thrive and build a country. Jean Francois HARDY was just one of these men. In researching this family a wealth of information was uncovered. It is a story of the intermarriages of numerous pioneer family to produce a rich heritage. These people will take you from apothecaries, to common labourers, to the Kings of France, to Charlemagne and Roman Emporers.

Don't miss Filles de Roi, Filles a Marier, Carginan Soldiers and Royal Connection.

The following is an alphabetical list of the paternal and maternal grandparents in the Lardie gedcom who would be listed as "Pioneers".

I have made every attempt to translate the works
to the best of my ability. Not having access to the
French Canadian books I have relied on online biographies and information, kindly shared
through the Quebec Research List. Check the
links page and visit them. There is a lot of
information available.
